Volunteer shortage pauses 2027 Fort St. John Air Show
The 2027 Fort St. John Air Show has been cancelled due to a shortage of volunteers.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John International Airshow Society has announced the event will not go forward for 2027 due to a shortage of volunteers.
According to a May 19th Facebook post by the Fort St. John International Air Show, the decision is needed to ensure the event continues in a safe, sustainable and successful way.Â
“Hosting an air show requires a strong and dedicated team to manage planning, safety, sponsorships, logistics, parking, vendor coordination, ticketing and event operations,” the release said. “Events like this are built by communities and their success depends on people coming together with a shared commitment.”Â
The event is a “community celebration” which proudly showcases the region and brings families, visitors, local businesses and volunteers together, according to the release.Â
Planning had begun for the event to return in 2027 following the success of the 2025 show, but following careful review, the need for additional volunteer support to deliver the event became evident.Â
The release said despite the disappointment of not having a show in 2027, it provides an opportunity for the event to increase and strengthen its volunteer base.Â
“Our focus now is on building the team, partnerships and support needed to bring the air show back stronger in the future.”
