TAYLOR, B.C. — An overnight power outage in Taylor originally meant to take place several weeks ago has been rescheduled for Thursday.
Word initially reached BC Hydro customers in Taylor about a planned six-hour outage for pole replacement in November.
It was scheduled to begin December 6th, but was soon cancelled due to “operational constraints.”
The outage is now scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9th, and last until 4:00 a.m. on Friday the 10th.
According to the utility’s website, 927 customers in Taylor are expected to be affected by the outage.
Another 258 customers will also be impacted by a shorter, thirty-minute planned outage that will also begin at 10:00 p.m. on the 9th.
When contacted by an Energeticcity.ca reporter regarding the initial outage plan, a BC Hydro employee said planned outages could be rescheduled if temperatures fall below -15 degrees Celsius during the outage period.
