Huskies schedule released for Hockey Alberta Junior ‘B’ Provincials

The Huskies’ open the tournament against the Capital Junior Hockey League’s Morinville Jets on Wednesday, April 2nd.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Huskies’ path to the provincial championship has been set.

Fresh off their Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League (NWJHL) title over La Crete, the team released its Hockey Alberta Junior ‘B’ Provincials schedule via a Facebook post on Monday, March 31st.

The Pups first opponent is the Capital Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) and tournament host Morinville Jets.

Morinville also won the playoff championship allowing the playoff finalist, the Sherwood Park Knights, to participate. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Mountain time on Wednesday, April 2nd.

On Thursday, April 3rd, the Huskies will face off against the North West Calgary Athletic Association’s Stampeders from the Calgary Junior ‘B’ Hockey League.  

The Stampeders did not taste defeat this year, with 27 wins and a single tie from 28 regular season games. Game time is 3:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Friday, April 4th sees a showdown at noon against the North Eastern Alberta Hockey League’s (NEAHL) Morinville Bisons. The Bisons are champions of the last four full seasons played in the NEAHL. 

Fort St. John will wrap up the round-robin portion of the tournament against the Sherwood Park Knights on Saturday, April 5th at 6:00 p.m. Mountain time.

The final and consolation final will be held on April 6th. All games will take place at the Landrex Arena in the Morinville Leisure Centre.

A guy who found his calling later in life, Edward Hitchins is a professional storyteller with a colourful and extensive history.

Beginning his journey into journalism in 2012 at Seneca College, Edward also graduated from Humber College with an Advanced Diploma in Print and Broadcast Journalism in 2018.  After time off from his career and venturing into other vocations, he started his career proper in 2022 in Campbell River, B.C.

In a way, he hopes this position will allow both himself and Energeticcity to grow as a collective unit as his career moves forward and evolves into the next step.

He looks forward to growing both as a reporter and as a human being while being posted in Fort St. John.
