Northern Lights College finds new location for Tumbler Ridge campus after tragedy

Northern Lights College (NLC) has found a new location for its Tumbler Ridge campus, after a mass shooting at its former home in the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School building.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — The Northern Lights College (NLC) has found a new location for the Tumbler Ridge campus. 

According to a Facebook post uploaded to the college’s page, the Tumbler Ridge Place building on Front Street has been secured as its new location. 

The NLC Tumbler Ridge campus is currently located at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where there was a mass shooting on February 10th.

This comes after the British Columbia government announced that portable facilities will be available for students at the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, so they won’t have to learn in a place where six people were killed.

The college is preparing the new location to continue to deliver programs and support learners in the community, the post says.
