His sentencing hearing will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Fort St. John.

Dan McLaughlin, communications counsel with the BC Prosecution Service, said impact statements may be heard during the sentencing hearing.

After the trial was delayed earlier this year, Sutherland opted for a trial by judge alone. He was also denied bail in January.
