Planned outages to affect over 400 BC Hydro customers in Fort St. John
BC Hydro has scheduled two outages in Fort St. John, one on January 6th and the other on January 13th, 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two planned power outages will affect 404 BC Hydro customers in Fort St. John in January.
The first outage is planned for Tuesday, January 6th, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The outage was originally set for December 10th but was rescheduled.
According to BC Hydro’s outage list, 41 customers will be affected in portions of Charlie Lake and Fort St. John, including North Highway 29, 283rd Road, Highland Trail and Mile 58 Road while crews complete a pole replacement.

A second, larger outage is planned for Tuesday, January 13th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., also due to a pole replacement. This outage was rescheduled from December 18th and will affect 363 customers.
Impacted areas include 116th Road, 161st Road, 277th Road, 279th Road, 279A Road, 287th Road, Bennett Road, Blue Jay Road, Canary Road, Daunes Road, Donis Road, Duanes Street, Gourley Road, Gourley Subdivision, Hannaford Road, Hudson’s Hope Road, Jensen Avenue, Jensen Road, Joyce Avenue, Koop Road, Lower Cache Road, Upper Cache Road, Luciow 281st Road, March Road, Meek Road, Musgrove Avenue, North Cache Road, North Cache Creek Road, Old Hudson’s Hope Road, Robinson Road, Tea Creek Estates Road, Thompson Road, Watson Road, Wright Road, Zolinski Avenue and sections of north and south Highway 29.
Affected customers will receive automated phone calls, emails or postcards ahead of the outages.
Planned outages may be postponed if weather conditions become extreme. The utility reviews scheduled outages during periods of very cold temperatures, usually -15 C or below, while factoring windchill in local forecasts.

If an outage is delayed, BC Hydro customers will be notified before the scheduled start time, and the outage will be removed from its online outage list, according to the utility’s community relations coordinator Bob Gammer.
An outage in Fort St. John, originally scheduled for December 11th, was rescheduled to December 30th, taking place from 7 a.m. to around 9 a.m.
