School District 60 cancels buses as cold weather continues

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — School buses have been cancelled in Fort St. John tomorrow (December 16th). 

School District 60 (SD60) said “weather and road conditions” have prompted the disruption as the Peace region continues to endure freezing temperatures and snowfall.

This comes as Environment Canada forecasts temperatures dropping to near -33 C with wind chill on December 16th in Fort St. John.

SD60 notified parents of the cancellations via its Facebook page at about 4:30 p.m. on December 15th. 

This is the latest scheduling to be disrupted by the cold, with the Fort St. John Public Library closed on December 12th and 13th, and various hockey matches postponed over the weekend as well.
