‘Staffing challenges’ close Tumbler Ridge Health Centre ER
The Tumbler Ridge Health Centre will be closed until 7 p.m. due to staffing challenges.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — Emergency Department services at the Tumbler Ridge Health Centre will be unavailable for three hours on June 22nd due to staffing challenges.Â
According to a June 22nd Facebook post from Northern Health, “unexpected staffing challenges” will result in Emergency Department services being unavailable from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 22nd.Â
Northern Health said Emergency Department statuses can change abruptly. For up-to-date information on the status of Emergency Departments in Northern Health, visit the Emergency Department Status page.Â
Residents of Tumbler Ridge who require life-threatening emergency care for chest pain, difficulty breathing or severe bleeding can call 911 for transport to the nearest and appropriate medical facility.Â
Patients with non-urgent care needs should contact their primary care provider. Residents without a family doctor or nurse practitioner can access one by calling the Northern Health Virtual Primary and Community Care Clinic at 1-844-645-7811 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
