The Best Coffee in Fort St John

In the spring of 2025, we here at Moose Media ran the North Peace People’s Choice Awards. With these awards, the people of the North Peace region voted on who was the best of the best in a wide variety of categories. You can find the full list here, but we wanted to share some of the winners and runner-ups in specific categories to help showcase the awesome businesses and organizations that make our region a great place to live.

With our long, early morning commutes and cold winters, coffee is very important to the residents of Fort St John. Here are the spots with the best coffee options to get your day started right.

#1: Bean UpNorth Coffee House

A recent addition to the Energetic City, Bean UpNorth Coffee House has already made an impact by being named the Best Coffee in Fort St John. Located near the heart of downtown, they are an excellent option to keep energized throughout the day. According to their Facebook Page, they serve coffee with quality taste along with freshly baked breads and pastries. If you haven’t checked them out yet, make sure to do so!

#2: Farmhouse On Main

Farmhouse On Main offers a lot, including a full coffee bar and cafe service. Their barista specialize in lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and more. Make sure to grab one today and check out their gift store as well!

#3: Blenz Coffee

#106 9317 96th Street, Fort St John, BC

According to their website, Blenz Coffee offers premium flavours thanks to 100% Arabica beans, Single Origin chocolates, and high-grade ceremonial matcha. Their signature espresso is smoother and sweeter than traditional blends thanks to years of fine-tuning, offering a full-bodied experience with a balance of acidity that finished the palate with a lingering sweet taste.

#4: The Canadian Grind

Since 2012 the Canadian Grind has been serving Salt Spring Coffee which is organic, fair-to-trade, and the beans are roasted right on Salt Spring Island, BC. According to Manager Meghan VanderMeulen, they serve a large selection of gourmet coffees such as Caramel Macchiatos, espresso, lattes, smoothies and a selection of over 100 loose leaf teas. Homemade baked goods are made daily including a selection of muffins, cookies, pastries and goodies. Fresh made sandwiches, paninis and soups are also available. Their cozy cafe is locally owned & operated and features a sit down cafe or a convenient drive through.
