In the spring of 2025, we here at Moose Media ran the North Peace People’s Choice Awards. With these awards, the people of the North Peace region voted on who was the best of the best in a wide variety of categories. A recent addition to the Energetic City, Bean UpNorth Coffee House has already made an impact by being named the Best Coffee in Fort St John. Located near the heart of downtown, they are an excellent option to keep energized throughout the day. According to their Facebook Page, they serve coffee with quality taste along with freshly baked breads and pastries. If you haven’t checked them out yet, make sure to do so!

#4: The Canadian Grind

Since 2012 the Canadian Grind has been serving Salt Spring Coffee which is organic, fair-to-trade, and the beans are roasted right on Salt Spring Island, BC. According to Manager Meghan VanderMeulen, they serve a large selection of gourmet coffees such as Caramel Macchiatos, espresso, lattes, smoothies and a selection of over 100 loose leaf teas. Homemade baked goods are made daily including a selection of muffins, cookies, pastries and goodies. Fresh made sandwiches, paninis and soups are also available. Their cozy cafe is locally owned & operated and features a sit down cafe or a convenient drive through.
