Wray named Spring Stage Series champion

Nigel Wray was named champion of the Blizzard Bicycle Club’s 2024 Spring Stage Series after taking first place in all six races in the event.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Nigel Wray was named champion of the Blizzard Bicycle Club’s 2024 Spring Stage Series after taking first place in all six races in the event. 

Wray’s most recent victory came last Thursday in the sixth and final race of the series, where he crossed the finish line with a time of 23:53. 

Barb Jarnagin took second place, clocking in at 27:48, with Kevin Hunt hot on her heels at 28:17.

This win marks the second year Wray has won the club’s Spring Stage Series after being named 2023’s champion.

Wray and Jarnagin lead the club’s point standings, with Wray holding 30 points in the men’s category and Jarnagin with 30 points in the women’s category. 

Next, the cyclists will prepare for its King of Spring race, which will kick off in a few weeks.
