FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — With summer fast approaching, runs around the peace region are set to become a lot more colourful.

Registration has opened for both the Sunrise Rotary Club of Fort St. John’s ninth annual Colour Run/Walk and Chetwynd’s Tansi Friendship Centre’s five-kilometre Colour Run, scheduled for consecutive days on the last weekend of May.

Colour runs are community races where stations are lined throughout the course, with volunteers throwing coloured chalk at participants.

First up will be the Tansi Friendship Centre’s charity colour run, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30th at 10 a.m., starting on Campbell Way behind Pine Valley Exhibition Park.

The course will be released online soon, according to the Tansi Friendship Centre’s Lannae Boyd.

Boyd added the motive to put on the event came from Tansi staff members completing a learn to run program.
