BC Summer Games underway with 10 athletes from Fort St. John

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Kelowna 2026 BC Summer Games are underway, with several athletes representing Fort St. John and northeast B.C.

From July 22 to 26, athletes from across British Columbia will be in Kelowna for the 2026 BC Summer Games.

Among the participants are 10 athletes from Fort St. John representing the Cariboo-North East zone in several different events:

• Parker Andrews, Golf
• Kiptyn Harvey, Golf
• Sydney Carew, Swimming
• Diego Lascari, Athletics
• Niko Mackay, Athletics 
• Kaleb Stevens-Fleming, Athletics
• Brady Bone, Athletics
• Isaiah Hack, Box Lacrosse
• Elyse Martin, Female Rugby

Dawson Creek is also represented at the games with six athletes: Erin and Tristyn Clease in Female Volleyball; Haylie Hicks in Female Volleyball; Emily Thede in Athletics; Ava Davoren in Athletics; Sophia Aylward in Golf; and Tolor Gies in Golf.

Track and field athletes from Fort Nelson are also representing Cariboo-North East at the games. 

The athletes representing northeast B.C. at the four-day event will compete against athletes from the Kootenays, Thompson-Okanagan, Fraser Valley, Fraser River, Vancouver-Coastal, Vancouver Island-Central Coast and North West. 

On July 24, the event had announced all sporting events had returned to their usual schedules after outdoor events were suspended due to poor air quality.
