‘Staffing challenges’ close Hudson’s Hope ER for a week
The ER in Hudson’s Hope will be closed for a week until July 6th at 8:30 a.m., due to staffing challenges.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — Emergency services in Hudson’s Hope will be unavailable for a week due to “staffing challenges.”
According to an update on Northern Health’s Emergency Department Status page on June 29th, the centre will now reopen on Monday, July 6th, at 8:30 a.m.
The emergency department was previously closed on June 19th due to staffing-related shortages.
In a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, Northern Health said: “The current service interruption in Hudson’s Hope is the result of staffing challenges we have outlined previously.”
Northern Health previously told Energeticcity.ca on May 29th that it had “successfully” recruited a second physician to Hudson’s Hope community, who is expected to arrive this summer after completing the recruitment process.
During normal working hours, the centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
The health authority urged residents who are in need of emergency care outside of normal working hours to call 911 to connect with BC Emergency Health Services for transport to the nearest available hospital.
