‘Staffing challenges’ close Hudson’s Hope Health Centre’s ER
Emergency services in Hudson’s Hope will be unavailable due to ‘staffing challenges’ until Monday, June 22nd at 8:30 a.m.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The emergency department in Hudson’s Hope has been closed for the third time this month.
As per Northern Health’s Emergency Department Status page, the ER in Hudson’s Hope closed on June 19th at approximately 10 a.m., and will reopen on Monday, June 22nd at 8:30 a.m.
The department was previously closed for a week from June 8th to June 15th.
In a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, Northern Health said: “The current service interruption in Hudson’s Hope is the result of staffing challenges we have outlined previously.”
The health authority said it has “successfully” recruited a second physician to the Hudson’s Hope community, who is expected to arrive this summer on completion of the recruitment process, Northern Health told Energeticcity.ca on May 29th.
During normal working hours, the centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Northern Health urged residents who need emergency care outside of normal working hours to call 911 to connect with BC Emergency Health Services for transport to the nearest available hospital.
