Taylor Speedway’s Babcock Memorial set to kick-off 2026 racing season
The races on May 22nd and 23rd honour Doug Babcock, who was a co-founder of the Taylor Speedway.

TAYLOR, B.C. — Pulse-pounding racing action is set to return to the Taylor Speedway come the end of May.
The Babcock Memorial races have been announced by the raceway and are scheduled to begin on Friday, May 22nd, according to a Facebook post promoting the event.
Celebrating three decades of the event, the races are held in honour of Doug Babcock. Babcock was a co-founder of the track, which is a ⅜ of a mile and located off Cherry Avenue West in the District of Taylor.

The event will feature races in bomber cars, which resemble stock cars, as well as modified racers and mini-stock classes.
Following the Babcock Memorial, the speedway will hold events in June, July and September.
The Babcock Memorial takes place on May 22nd and 23rd at the Taylor Speedway. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, while general admission is $10.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the races beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the opening will be at 11 a.m., with a race time scheduled for 1 p.m.
