Updated, Sunday, May 3rd, 10:06 a.m.: This article has been updated to reflect new reports from BC Wildfire Service issued on May 3rd:

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The wildfire in the Baldonnel area is now listed as ‘under control’ by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

This means the fire is being contained, and is not expected to grow beyond its current perimeter.

The four-hectare fire was first reported on the evening of Saturday, May 2nd in the 249 road and Baldonnel Road Area, south of the Beatton River.

The fire’s suspected cause is believed to be human activity.
