Alaska Highway to close periodically for up to two hours following fatal crash

The Alaska Highway north of Fort Nelson will be closed intermittently for up to two hours between Tofte Mainline and Recreation Road on March 5th, following a crash which killed two people.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — Highway 97 will intermittently close for up to two hours today, following a fatal collision. 

According to the Public Services and Procurement Canada, the Alaska Highway will be closed for 35 kilometres between Tofte Mainline and Recreation Road, near Summit Lake north of Fort Nelson, periodically for up to two hours on March 5th. 

This comes after two people died in a single vehicle crash on that stretch of Highway 97 north of Fort Nelson on March 3rd.
