Man handed 24-hour driving ban after traffic stop in Fort St. John during morning rush

The Fort St. John RCMP conducted a “proactive traffic stop” at around 8 a.m. on February 3rd, and say they arrested a man and confiscated drug paraphernalia, illicit tobacco and drugs.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John RCMP  arrested a man after a police stop in the area of 100th Avenue and 100th Street on Tuesday morning.

According to the media relations officer for the Fort St. John RCMP, Christiaan Dreyer, police conducted a “proactive traffic stop” with a vehicle in the area at around 8 a.m. on February 3rd.

The stop led to an arrest in relation to an impaired-by-drug-driving investigation.

Police say they confiscated drug paraphernalia, illicit tobacco and drugs and the man was issued a 24-hour driving ban under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Dreyer told Energeticcity.ca the RCMP’s investigation remains ongoing.
