FORT NELSON, B.C. — Freezing rain is expected in the Fort Nelson region today, making icy surfaces “difficult to detect,” according to Environment Canada.

The weather authority warns a warm front passing through the area beginning on the afternoon of February 3rd could “bring periods of ice pellets or freezing rain.” However, it is forecast to “taper off” by the evening.

“In areas where surface temperatures are colder, ice pellets are more likely, whereas regions with slightly warmer temperatures could see freezing rain,” reads the warning issued by Environment Canada.
