Dawson Creek’s Walter Wright Pioneer Village to host multicultural festival
the Mutlicultural Fusion Festival is a way to celebrate diverse and different communities within Dawson Creek, says organizer.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Dawson Creek will celebrate next weekend by bringing the world together in its own unique way.
Organized by the South Peace Community Arts Council, the multicultural fusion festival will take over the city’s Walter Wright Pioneer Village on Saturday, June 27th.
According to its website, the council was formed in 1969 to coordinate the work of cultural groups in Dawson Creek and the surrounding area.
The council’s community coordinator, Emma Hawkins, spoke to Energeticcity.ca about the festival, an annual event in Dawson Creek.
Hawkins said the multicultural fusion festival is a chance for cultures around the south peace “to celebrate and appreciate each other.”
“[The festival] just celebrates all the different cultures in our community,” said Hawkins. “Everyone comes together for the day [to] share games, food, music, dance, culture, and just have a good time.”
The multicultural fusion festival will feature cultural representation from Brazil, India, Norway, the Philippines, and Ukraine, as well as Indigenous entries.
