Throughout 2025, we have had multiple articles and projects aimed at sharing Indigenous stories in the region. We are excited to announce that one of those projects has won an award!
The Before the Peace podcast powered by Troyer Ventures and the Fort St John Co-op has won the Best Podcast (Small Market) award for the second year in a row from the 2025 Canadian Radio Awards. In this podcast, host Chris Walker is joined by guests such as Pat Jansen, Taylor Behn-Tsakoza, Connie Greyeyes, and more to learn about the Indigenous and Métis people in the area. Thank you to everyone who has listened over the years! If you want to check it out, you can find it wherever you get your podcasts or click here to listen now.
A new series for us in 2025 was our Indigenous Explainer series. Over the year, Ed Hitchins, our Indigenous Voices Reporter, has written multiple articles to provide more context on Indigenous culture, events and more. Make sure to check them out and let us know what you think at contact@energeticcity.ca
