Last week, we announced the winners of the 2026 North Peace People’s Choice Awards presented by RE/MAX Action Realty! Listed are the best people, businesses, and more as voted on by the people who live in our community.

It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most curious about. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the most-read stories for the week of April 19 to 25, 2026:

1. Evacuation Order Issued for Old Fort Landslide: on April 20, 2026. Residents who have evacuated can access Emergency Support Services at the Pomeroy Sport Centre in Fort St. John. 
2. Old Fort Resident Raises Concerns: about lack of communication amid landslide evacuation. Art Smith, a resident of Old Fort, claims an emergency alert that was issued on April 20, 2026, was not received by some residents.
3. Court Report: for the week of April 13 to 17, 2026. Included are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts.
