“Once again, the people of Fort St. John have shown what community truly means,” said Moose FM program director Chris Walker.
“Thanks to your generosity, we have surpassed this year’s goal for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.”

Walker added that the radiothon has now raised over $1.5 million since its inception in 2004.
“On behalf of everyone at Moose FM, thank you for helping us make a lasting difference in the lives of families across the northeast,” he said.
The funds raised this year will support the purchase of three pieces of equipment for the hospital’s intensive care unit: an ultrasound with a thoracic probe for real-time heart monitoring, a transport monitor to track patients’ vitals during transfers and procedures and a temperature management system (also known as an ‘arctic sun’) used to maintain precise body temperatures during recovery.

Light a Moose is part of the hospital foundation’s annual Be an Angel campaign and has been hosted by Moose FM, owned by Energeticcity.ca’s parent company Moose Media, since 2004.
Last year’s radiothon brought in $153,000, funding the purchase of a MALDI machine for the hospital.
