Search for wanted man believed to be armed, dangerous

Fort St. John officers are warning residents not to approach wanted man Chad Travis if they see him, and to instead call 911 immediately since he’s believed to be armed.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John RCMP officers are looking to the public for help locating a wanted man they say is armed and dangerous.

According to a new press release, Chad Cameron Travis is wanted for three counts of uttering threats and one count each of assault and theft of a motor vehicle.

Travis is described as a 46-year-old Indigenous man standing six-feet-one-inch tall and weighing 172 pounds, with salt and pepper hair, a moustache and beard to match and brown eyes.

Officers are warning residents not to approach Travis if they see him, and to instead call 911 immediately since he’s believed to be armed.

Anyone with information regarding Travis’ whereabouts can call the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100.

Meanwhile, local RCMP officers have also renewed their efforts to search for a man wanted on child porn charges last seen in Fort St. John.
