This comes after a bail hearing for Schmidt was held on Monday, September 8th, following a delay from its initial date in mid-August.

Following the bail decision, according to the BCPS, a pre-trial conference for Schmidt will reportedly be held.

Pre-trial conferences are held to go over information such as disclosure of the Crown’s evidence, planned witnesses, any admissions either party is willing to make and whether it’s possible to settle the matter without a trial.
