Fort St. John Development Services team relocating to old RCMP building

The City of Fort St. John announced on Friday that its Development Services team will be relocated to the old RCMP building at 10648 100th Street.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John announced on Friday that its Development Services team will be relocated to the old RCMP building at 10648 100th Street. 

Front counter services will be available to the public at the ‘new Development Services Building’ starting on Monday, September 16th, 2024. 

According to the announcement, the move expects to save the city $175,000 every year.

“Staff have already begun transitioning from the previous office in the Beatton Building, and while every effort is being made to ensure a smooth transition, there may be minor disruptions during this time,” says the city.

“We appreciate your patience as we work to minimize any inconvenience.”

The development team provides services to the city, such as planning, engineering, building, business licensing, and economic development.

The budget for the building was $51 million with the city receiving $11.5 million from the federal government for being a net-zero project.
