Other councillors elected included Ashley Barrett, Donovan Cameron, Justin Gauthier and Tammy Watson.

Paquette, who has been chief since 2022, faced opposition from newly elected councillors Barrett and Watson.

SFN’s executive director, Nathan Paquette, took to LinkedIn to congratulate the new council, which he described as “a mix of familiar faces and new energy stepping into leadership.”

“I’m looking forward to working with this team and supporting the priorities that matter most to our members,” Paquette wrote.

“Whether it’s strengthening services, advancing opportunities, or continuing to build something our future generations can be proud of, the direction we take will be shaped by the people we serve.”

The SFN council’s swearing-in ceremony will take place on Monday, April 27th.
