Fort St. John offers remote ESS registration for evacuees

The City of Fort St. John has announced that evacuees can now register or renew their status with the Fort St. John Emergency Support Services Reception Centre remotely without travelling to the facility.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City of Fort St. John has announced that evacuees can now register or renew their status with the Fort St. John Emergency Support Services Reception Centre remotely without travelling to the facility. 

“Call our remote referral team if you cannot register at the Reception Centre in Fort St. John or would rather not come down for your renewals,” said the city in a Facebook post.

Evacuees are instructed to call the Reception Centre at 250-764-3310 and provide call takers with the necessary information.

Volunteers at the centre will then contact the evacuees to complete the referral process. 

To use this service, evacuees must sign up, verify their identity on the BC Services Card app, and have an ESS file.

Those who need assistance with this process can contact the Service BC Emergency Line at 1-800-387-4258.

The city notes that some circumstances may require evacuees to come to the reception centre.
