Blizzard Bicycle Club’s Spring Stage Series continues
Blizzard Bicycle Club members gathered at Woods Corner on Sunday for Race #5 of its Spring Stage Series.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Blizzard Bicycle Club members gathered at Woods Corner on Sunday for Race #5 of its Spring Stage Series.
Race #5 followed Thursday’s Race #4, which consisted of the 16-kilometre Baldonnel Time Trial, where Nigel Wray was named champion once again, finishing with a time of 24:06. Ray Avanthay came in second place at 24:45, followed by Kevin Hunt, who clocked in at 28:27.
On Sunday, the cyclists were met with windy conditions for Race #5, which was a whopping 25-kilometres in length.
After a neutral start to the race, Wray, Hunt, and Barb Jarnagin pulled ahead of the group and pedalled hard for the finish line.
Wray took first place again, crossing the finish line at 44:50. Hunt came in second place a few minutes later, finishing with a time of 50:17, with Jarnagin hot on his heels in third place just one second later at 50:18.
The club will meet for the final race of the series on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Baldonnel.
