Earlier this week, a few members of our team were able to attend the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference!


Taylar, Whitney, and Catarina were able to go and listen to a variety of speakers discuss leadership, teamwork, and more. Whitney was also a speaker at the event and discussed being confident with social media.

For those who don’t know, the Spark Women’s Leadership Conference is an annual event that just celebrated its 10th year. It is designed to provide professional development to enhance the career path of our female workforce, according to Spark’s website. They also recently announced they have established a $50,000 educational endowment fund!
Top Stories of the Week
It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most interested in the region. Sometimes it’s a big decision that will impact property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the top stories for the week of September 17 to 23, 2023:
- Over 100 People: attended the 1 Million March 4 Children in Fort St John on Wednesday. The Trans Alliance Friends, Family & Youth Society held a “peaceful presence” in response to the anti-SOGI rally.
- Fire Department Used Jaws of Life: in Fort St John to gain access to an individual in an emergency situation. Deputy Fire Chief Matt Troiano said the firefighters used “quick thinking” to utilize available resources to help the resident.
- Worker Sustains Serious Injuries: in electrical contact incident at Chetwynd Substation. B.C. Hydro’s Mike Kellett, community relations manager for Northern B.C., says because there is an investigation underway, he cannot confirm if the incident resulted in a power outage in Chetwynd.
