Court Report: June 8th to June 12th

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts between June 8th and June 12th. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, June 9th

Robert Charles Stewart (born 1951)

Resonable grounds were satisfied for Stewart for an incident on December 12th, 1988, in Charlie Lake. 

Steward was issued a $500 recognizance for 12 months following the allegation. If Stewart fails to comply with the court’s conditions, they must pay $500.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, June 9th

Ryan Alain Durand (born 1991) 

Durand was found guilty of two counts of breaching a release order on June 3rd and 4th in Tumbler Ridge. 

They were handed a conditional discharge, which means the record won’t show a conviction if they meet the conditions set by the judge, and a six-month probation order. 

Durand must also pay a $100 victim surcharge, which helps crime victims.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, June 11th

Trevor Abram Olfert (born 1971) 

Olfert was found guilty of arson, damage to their own property on October 1st, 2024, in Fort St. John. 

They were handed a conditional sentence, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest,’ for 12 months. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, June 11th

Tyrell Loras Hingley (born 1988) 

Hingley was found guilty of failing to produce a driver’s licence or insurance on August 22nd, 2025, in Dawson Creek. 

They were fined $70 and must pay a $11 victim surcharge. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, June 12th

Brandon Michael Nathan Rose-Decker (born 1997)

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Rose-Decker for an incident on December 8th, 2025, in Fort St. John. 

They were issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for a period of 12 months. If Rose-Decker fails to comply with the court’s conditions, they must pay $500.

Aaron Scott Tubbs (born 1981) 

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Tubbs for an incident on January 22nd, 2026, in Taylor. 

They were issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for a period of 12 months. If Tubbs fails to comply with the court’s conditions, they must pay $500.
