Canada Armed Forces conducting training exercise in Dawson Creek
The Canadian Armed Forces is conducting training in the City of Dawson Creek.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Residents of Dawson Creek can expect to see members of the Canadian Armed Forces in the city for a scheduled training exercise.
According to a May 26th Facebook post by the City of Dawson Creek, between 6 and 10 members of the Canadian Armed Forces will be in the community from May 26th to 28th.
Members of the armed forces may be seen in uniform while operating civilian-pattern vehicles.
Civilian pattern vehicles are commercially available vehicles used for routine base operations, training exercises, and utility tasks.
According to the Canadian Government, the Medium Support Vehicle System Project, which received its last 161 Armoured Project System in September 2020, included MilCOTS trucks.
During the exercise, army personnel will stay at local accommodations.
All activities, in coordination with local authorities, will focus on reconnaissance and planning procedures, according to the post.

The post said the training exercises are planned, and no emergency situation is underway. The exercises are not expected to disrupt public safety or services.
The training will help ensure the Canadian Armed Forces is prepared to support provinces and territories if requested during domestic operations.
