City of Fort St. John releases ‘Sunshine List’ for 2025
The city has released its Statement of Financial Information (SOFI), also known as the Sunshine List for 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The city has spent more than $27 million on elected officials and employees and more than $83 million on goods or services for 2025, according to the latest “Sunshine List.”
During the May 25th meeting, the city’s council approved the Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) for 2025. Also known as the Sunshine List, the document provides details of all major city employee salaries and expenses throughout the year.
The document details employee compensation of approximately $27 million, including $373,682.18 for the council, $4.51 million for the International Association of Fire Fighters, $16.98 million for B.C. General Employees’ Union and $5.37 million in exemptions.
The city’s chief administrative officer (CAO), Milo MacDonald, was the city’s highest-paid employee, earning $272,502.47 in 2025.
Councillors Gordon Klassen and Tony Zabinsky both made $44,373.05, Trevor Bolin made $42,113.05, Jim Lequiere got $44,363.71 in remuneration, while Sarah MacDougall made $42,718.79 and Byron Stewart made $44,144.69.
With Mayor Lilia Hansen making $111,595.84, the remuneration for the city council totalled $373,682.18.
Additionally, Klassen’s expenses amounted to $18,501.94, while CAO MacDonald’s expenses totalled to $12,139.55, which was covered by the city.
