Spin-a-thon to support Tumbler Ridge Parents Advisory Council
The fouth annual spin a thon will benefit the Tumbler Ridge Parents Advisory Council, an organization of parents and caregivers of students in the District of Tumbler Ridge.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local gym is getting a band of spinning enthusiasts together for a day-long event benefitting the Tumbler Ridge Parent Advisory Council.
The fourth annual Prevail Athletics Spin-A-Thon is scheduled for eight hours on Saturday, May 9th. Space is available for 17 teams, according to a Facebook post about the event.
In exercise circles, spinning is the act of riding a stationary bike that is high-intensity and low-impact, focusing on endurance and intervals.

Teams of up to four can ride for a total of eight hours, with proceeds from the event helping the Tumbler Ridge Parents Advisory Council, an organization composed of parents and caregivers of students from the district’s elementary and secondary schools.
Tumbler Ridge saw a mass shooting in February, which left 10 people dead, including the assailant.
A fee of $200 is required for a team of four to enter the competition. An individual rider costs $50 to enter. There will be prizes as well as “people and fun” as the event is aimed at “pedalling for a purpose.”
The fourth annual Prevail Athletics Spin-A-Thon goes on Saturday, May 9th, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the gym at 9831 98A Street in Fort St. John.Â
