Kristina Rhodenizer, the hospice’s coordinator, said the event is about raising awareness of the hospice in Fort Nelson.

“We do this annual hike for awareness through our town,” said Rhodenizer. “We take our banner and walk as a group. After the route is finished, we come back to our location and celebrate with a barbecue.”

Participants must obtain a pledge form from the hospice’s thrift store, located at 4916 50th Street in Fort Nelson.
