Grande Prairie’s Northwestern Polytechnic gets commitment from Fort St. John soccer player
Deklin Winter will join the Northwest Polytechnic Wolves men’s soccer program for the 2026-27 season, the school announced.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Grand Prairie’s Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) soccer squad for next season will include a midfielder from Fort St. John.
The Wolves will welcome Deklin Winter for the 2026-27 soccer season.
Winter played with the Fort St. John Soccer Club program, and NWP announced his joining their club in a Facebook post on Thursday, June 25th.
The post says Winter “brings energy, consistency and determination to the midfield,” with NWP’s men’s head soccer coach, David Rojas, giving his newest recruit high praise.
Rojas said Winter will be “a valuable addition” to the Wolves’ team for next season.
“[Winter] is a midfielder with excellent stamina and intensity,” Rojas is quoted as saying in the post. “His work rate and consistency will allow him to contribute both offensively and defensively.”
Winter joins a men’s soccer team, which included another Fort St. John transport, kinesiology student Andrew Jackson, in 2025-26.
