Applications open for Tumbler Ridge Scholarship Program

The District of Tumbler is asking for applications for its 2026 scholarship program. The deadline to apply is May 15th.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — The District of Tumbler Ridge is seeking applications for its scholarship program for 2026. 

According to a Facebook post uploaded to the district’s page, each year, the district supports local Grade 12 students who demonstrate leadership, contribute to the community and are ready to take the next step in their education. 

The District of Tumbler Ridge Scholarship Program awards up to $5,000 in total combined value shared across all awards each year to pursue post-secondary education.

The district awards up to five scholarships per year. 

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be a graduate of Grade 12 in the same calendar year the scholarship is awarded, including from Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, a neighbouring secondary school or a recognized home-school program. 

In addition to this, the applicant must be a resident of Tumbler Ridge and must have lived in the district for at least 12 months immediately preceding the application deadline.

Winners will be chosen based on the following qualities: outstanding citizenship, leadership and volunteerism. 

Applicants should submit a complete application form, 250-word essay, letters of reference and transcripts of Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses. 

Once the applications have been submitted, the district staff will review eligibility, applicants will be notified and scholarship funds will be disbursed. 

The deadline for applying is May 15th. 

The documents can be submitted in person, in a closed envelope, to the Tumbler Ridge Town Hall located at Iles Way Box 100 or via email to corporate@dtr.ca.
