The PRRD received mixed feedback from the community in 2025 on the project.

A targeted community visioning session was held later that year, where residents expressed an interest in the project, but requested additional information on costs.

Following feedback at the 2025 session, the PRRD employed an architect to develop the different options for the site.

The PRRD has been considering a new community space for Golata Creek since the Golata Creek Community Hall closed in 2022 due to structural issues found during an inspection.

If the project is completed, residents will also have the final say on if they support a new taxation area to pay for the project.

The PRRD has allocated $500,000 in funds for the project.

Residents are invited to complete a survey about the community hall. The survey is open from March 30th to April 15th, 2026.

Paper copies of the survey will be available at the meeting, as well as at the PRRD offices in both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
