Man shot dead in Kamloops, B.C., in possible targeted attack, police say

KAMLOOPS — A man has been shot and killed in Kamloops, B.C., in what police are describing as a targeted attack.

Police say the shooting happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the 600 block of Seymour Street, where one man was found with a gunshot wound and taken to hospital.

He later died of his injuries, and investigators say early indications show the attack may have been targeted.

No suspects have been arrested.

Police say that in consultation with the family they are identifying the victim as Manny Brooks in an effort to further the investigation on the killing.

Police say they are remaining in the area of the crime scene to gather evidence as well as speak to potential witnesses, although the scene has been released and is no longer closed to the public.
