Notice of Pesticide Use

SPONSORED: The Ministry of Environment has issued BC Hydro a Pesticide Use Permit in connection with the Site C Project.

Fort St. John and Dawson Creek no longer have community newspapers. To help local businesses reach the communities of Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Hudson's Hope, Pouce Coupe, Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge, Energeticcity.ca is now accepting public notice advertising.

The Ministry of Environment has issued BC Hydro a Pesticide Use Permit (Permit # 105-0989-25-28) for integrated vegetation management activities in connection with the Site C Project.

This permit allows continued treatment of noxious and invasive plants with the use of Milestone (P.C.P. No. 28517, active ingredient: aminopyralid) within the Pesticide Free Zone (PFZ) of riparian areas on the Site C Project footprint. It is estimated that an area of 8.0 ha will be treated using backpack sprayers or hand pump spot treatments. The projected period of use is from August 2026 to August 2028.

A copy of the permit and treatment area map will be posted on the Site C Project website:
