Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s Be an Angel Campaign raises over $473,000 in 2025

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation raised over $473,000 through its 2025 Be an Angel Campaign.

The Be an Angel Campaign is the foundation’s largest annual fundraising initiative and supports the purchase of medical equipment and enhanced patient care at the Fort St. John Hospital, including upgrades to the intensive care unit (ICU).

The foundation announced the total funds raised by the campaign’s individual initiatives in a January 16th Facebook post.

The Be an Angel Gala returned on November 8th at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre, bringing together donors, volunteers and community partners for an evening of live entertainment, awards and fundraising auctions. 

According to the foundation, the gala raised over $168,000 to support the purchase of a specialized MR1 ventilator, designed for patients who require life support while undergoing MRI scans.

The Light a Moose Radiothon ran from November 19th to 21st outside the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre, as part of the Be an Angel Campaign. 

Hosted by 100.1 Moose FM, the 22nd annual radiothon surpassed its $150,000 goal, raising more than $163,000 for ICU equipment.

Three companies – NorthRiver Midstream, Petronas and Tourmaline – each provided $20,000 in matching donations.

The FSJ Hospital Foundation said funds raised through the radiothon will support the purchase of an ultrasound with a thoracic probe, a transport monitor and a temperature management system for the ICU.

More than $142,000 was raised through the Be an Angel Mailout, completing funding for the previously mentioned equipment. 

The foundation said additional contributions will support the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s Greatest Need Fund, which provides flexibility to purchase equipment for both the Fort St. John Hospital and Peace Villa residential care facility.

“Every donation makes a difference and your support helps bring vital equipment and enhanced care to our hospital,” the foundation said in the Facebook post. “We couldn’t do this without you.”
