Firefighters tackle early morning blaze at Charlie Lake scales

The scales near Charlie Lake on Highway 97 north was on fire in the early hours of December 15th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The scales near Charlie Lake on Highway 97 were on fire early this morning. 

According to the Peace River Regional District (PRRD), Charlie Lake Fire Department dispatched 13 firefighters to 9011 Highway 97 north at 1:14 a.m.

PRRD reports the incident was a structural fire and no other emergency services were needed at the scene.
