KELOWNA, B.C. — In their quest to improve on their sixth-place showing at provincials in 2024, the North Peace Secondary School (NPSS) senior girls’ volleyball team came up short.

The Grizzlies played the ‘AAAA’ Girls Volleyball Provincial Championship in Kelowna starting on Thursday, November 27th and going into the weekend.

However, playing in the 16-team tournament, they were slotted into pool ‘C’ against teams from Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland in the round robin.

Although competitive, the Grizzlies dropped their first game to Nanaimo’s Dover Bay Secondary School in a three-set thriller by scores of 19-25, 25-16, 9-15 on November 27th.

After dropping their next two games to North Vancouver’s Handsworth Secondary School (20-25, 12-25) and Mission Secondary School (21-25, 22-25, 7-15), NPSS faced an uphill climb in the knockout rounds.

A subsequent three-set loss to Kelowna Secondary pushed the Grizzlies to the consolation round, where they were downed by Coquitlam’s École Dr. Charles Best Secondary School.
