Jake Gardner’s strong season continues with win at Cloverdale Rodeo

Gardner, ranked third in the PRCA bull riding standings, took the win at the four-day Rodeo this past weekend

CLOVERDALE, B.C. — The dream season continues in 2026 for Fort St. John bull rider Jake Gardner.

Now living in Alberta, Gardner entered the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair near Surrey, which ran for four days in mid-May.

Gardner was entered into ‘Pool A’ for his first ride under the lights at the Stetson Bowl on Friday, May 15th.

Riding Handsome Devil, Gardner cruised to an 87.5-point score and took over first place in the pool and $3,450 in purse money.

On the second day, Saturday, May 16th, Gardner followed it up with a ride worth 86-point ride upon Bonito, winning an additional $2,800 and securing his spot in the finals on Victoria Day, Monday, May 18th.

Gardner, who has taken victories in Houston and Del Rio, Texas, earlier this year, finished off the finals with a bull named Alberta Prime Devil’s Advocate, riding to a score of 89 and wrapping up the victory.

Having been ranked as high as number one in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) standings earlier in 2026, Gardner currently sits in third this season with $101,604.05 in earnings.

The 78th Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair took place from Thursday, May 14th to Monday, May 18th.
