Final evacuation alert rescinded for Kiskatinaw River wildfire

The last remaining evacuation alert for the Kiskatinaw River wildfire has been rescinded by the Peace River Regional District.

KELLY LAKE, B.C. — The latest evacuation alert for the Kiskatinaw River wildfire has been rescinded. 

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) announced evacuation alert nine for the Kiskatinaw River wildfire has ended as of 3 p.m. on June 19th.

Another evacuation alert may be issued if the wildfire situation becomes worse.

The PRRD also deactivated the Emergency Operations Centre as no more alerts are in place. 

Residents are also reminded that the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) currently has category two and three open fire prohibitions in place. 

BCWS also has an area restriction in place for the blaze.
