Site C reservoir fills by over 31 metres
According to BC Hydro, the water level in Site C reservoir has safely and steadily risen to over 31 meters since the filling began.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — According to BC Hydro, the water level in Site C reservoir has safely and steadily risen to over 31 meters since the filling began.
The dam site has a depth of more than 40 metres.
The Site C construction schedule from September to early October includes work on the right bank drainage tunnel, left bank drainage adit, and dam buttress galleries.
Work also continues on the upper channel portions and a section of the emergency access road.
The schedule also says the dam’s powerhouse is being installed with a cable tray, transformer assembly, electrical cables, and other equipment.
According to a September 20th update, “crews are installing the isolated-phase bus and 500-kilovolt line termination equipment to receive the new 500-kilovolt transmission lines.”
The Site C reservoir will be 83 kilometres long, cover about 5,550 hectares of land, and have a total surface area of approximately 9,330 hectares.

BC Hydro strongly advises people to stay away from the reservoir shoreline until it is deemed safe.
