Similar to multi-stage cycling, jet boat racing is a sport that takes place over six stages: four in a 30-mile best-time format, with the other two stages being three-lap races around a 35-mile course.

Gord Humphrey, fresh off another world championship win in Idaho, U.S.A. earlier in May, is expected to compete at the event in his boat U356 or Unnatural Disaster.

Humphrey, who competes in the unlimited class, secured his second straight title in 2025 on the Taylor waters with navigator Jason Palfy.

The race on the last weekend of June is the second of three summer events scheduled for B.C. and Alberta.

The 2026 Peace River Gold Cup will be held earlier in June, and the 2026 FluidPro 200 will be held in Grande Prairie in late July.

The Taylor Flats 200 begins on June 26th, in the Taylor Flats at Peace Island Park in the district of Taylor, and is free of charge to attend.
