Taylor Flats 200 dates announced by jet boat racing club
Local jet boat racing world champion, Gord Humphrey, is expected to return to race on the event which takes place in late June

TAYLOR, B.C. — Jet boat speed racing is set to return to the waters of Taylor’s Peace Island Park next month.
The B.C. Peace Region River Rats Society will host the Taylor Flats 200, which will be held from June 26th to June 28th, according to a Facebook post by the club.
The race is sanctioned by the Canadian Boat Federation and Jet Boat Racing Canada.
Similar to multi-stage cycling, jet boat racing is a sport that takes place over six stages: four in a 30-mile best-time format, with the other two stages being three-lap races around a 35-mile course.
Gord Humphrey, fresh off another world championship win in Idaho, U.S.A. earlier in May, is expected to compete at the event in his boat U356 or Unnatural Disaster.
Humphrey, who competes in the unlimited class, secured his second straight title in 2025 on the Taylor waters with navigator Jason Palfy.
The race on the last weekend of June is the second of three summer events scheduled for B.C. and Alberta.
