Three suspects were arrested in Alberta concerning a home invasion in Dawson Creek in January.

Corporal Graham Hartl with the Dawson Creek RCMP said the detachment cannot release the suspects’ names as charges are pending in B.C. for various offences.

However, Corporal Mathew Howell with the Alberta RCMP said Emily Ogen, a 23-year-old resident of Dawson Creek, and Dahr had been arrested for offences committed in Alberta in relation to the incident.

The third suspect’s name cannot be released because they are a minor.

Hartl said the break-in occurred in the area of 15th Street and 107th Avenue just before 7 p.m. on February 1st.

According to Hartl, two adults and one youth entered the residence armed, looking for anything valuable. He added that the suspects were known to the three occupants of the home.

One person was assaulted with a weapon, causing a facial laceration that required stitches.

The victim was released from the hospital the same evening.

Hartl said the three suspects stole a vehicle, which was tracked to the Bay Tree area of Alberta.

The Spirit River RCMP located the vehicle, but the suspects fled in a second stolen vehicle to a well site east of Rolla in Alberta.

Hartl said the trio crashed the vehicle near the well site, where Dawson Creek RCMP, Spirit River RCMP and police dog services attempted to track the suspects.

They were unsuccessful at the time, but well site employees contacted Spirit River RCMP a few hours later, and all three were arrested in the early morning of February 2nd.

Howell said both parties were initially released before they appeared in court on February 5th.

According to Howell, Ogden was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Dahr was charged with possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and a failure to comply with an undertaking.

Ogden is also set to reappear in a Grande Prairie court on February 26th.
