Fort St. John council awards tender for North Peace Cultural Centre exterior architectural design

Kumlin-Sullivan was awarded the project to revitalize the exterior of this iconic building on the intersection of 100th and 100th.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John council has awarded Kumlin-Sullivan Architects the contract for the exterior architectural renovation of the North Peace Cultural Centre.

On July 17th, the city issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for companies to submit exterior designs for the cultural centre.

The scope of work includes an architectural design of the exterior, removing the existing siding and installing new siding and windows, as well as installing a new door in the library exterior wall.

The RFP closed on August 21st with two submissions from Place Architecture for $185,000 and Kumlin-Sullivan Architects for $145,150.

After reviewing questions and an online interview, the city decided to award the contract to the Calgary-based company.

The exterior renovation of this building is part of the City of Fort St. John’s Downtown Revitalization plan, with the goal of “encouraging community, culture and the arts.”
