Wind warning issued for the B.C. Peace

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A cold front will move into the B.C. Peace Sunday evening bringing with it 70 to 90 km/h wind gusts.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the B.C. Peace. The warning says moderate southerly winds will shift to strong southwest winds Monday evening. The wind will gust 70 to 90 km/h early this evening and then ease later in the evening.

Current details:

Strong winds expected early this evening.

Hazards: Southwest winds 70 km/h gusting to 90. Risk of falling tree branches.

Locations: B.C. Peace River.

Remarks: A cold front moving across northeastern B.C. will bring strong winds to the region. Moderate southerly winds will shift to strong southwest winds 70 km/h gusting to 90 early this evening and then ease later in the evening.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Utility outages may occur.
